Library Moves to Curbside

Updated: Dec 4, 2020

Hi everyone!

Fall is here, and the trees in the yard look beautiful. Aren't we lucky to have such a lovely library building and grounds?? :-)

Sadly, due to the rising numbers of active COVID-19 cases in St. James, the library director has made the decision to limit the library to curbside service only. The idea behind these limits is to protect library staff, as well as patrons, by avoiding becoming a hot-spot for infection spread, as has happened to many other libraries across the country.

So what does that mean?

Library services continue! Options are somewhat limited but library staff are always here to help in anyway they can. With any of these services, we ask that you click or tap to Contact Us prior to arriving so that we can best serve all of our patrons.

*WiFi connectivity is available at the street or in the library yard 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Connect your device to stjamesmo.public for internet access.*

  • To Check Out Books If you know which books you want, click or tap here to be redirected to our online card catalog. Once there, choose the titles you want to check out and create a list. After you have chosen your books, contact the library, via phone, email, Facebook Messenger, or the Contact Form on our website. You can find all of that information by clicking or tapping to be redirected to our Contact Page. Send the list to us in whatever manner is easiest for you, and we'll do our best to fill your requests. Not sure what you're looking for? Library staff is more than happy to make selections for you. Contact us to get our recommendations!

  • To Use Computers Contact the library to set up an appointment during our business hours to use our computers for printing, applying for jobs, or any other computer service. Patrons are required to wear a mask while inside the building and time is limited to one hour per day. Only one person per session will be admitted for computer use.

  • To Print If possible, send the documents that need to printed to the library via email at library@stjamesmo.org prior to arriving at the building. If unable to do so, please contact the library for an appointment to use the computers.

  • To Fax Contact the library to set up a time to send your fax. Patrons using the fax service will be asked to wait outside the building while library staff performs the service.

Other Services are available on a case by case basis. As always, please Contact Us to see how we can meet your needs.

We are all so appreciate of the community support we have received this year during the many changes the library has endured. We are proud to be a part of this community and will continue to work hard to serve the citizens here as long as we can.
